UNO Flip

Age: 7+ Number of players: 2-10 Players Playing Time:  30  Min Game dimension:  12 x 9 x 2 cm UNO gets a brand new twist in the new UNO Flip! card game. It essentially plays like regular UNO but with the addition of Flip cards. This UNO card deck is double-sided with a “light” side and a “dark” side. You start off playing with the light side, but if someone plays a Flip card, you have to switch to playing the dark side. And on the dark side, there are different action cards with stiffer penalties. Instead of a Draw One card, the dark side has a Draw Five card. Instead of a Skip Card, the dark side has a Skip Everyone card. You have to continue playing with the dark side until another Flip card is played. If you don’t know how to play UNO, each player takes a turn matching a card from their hand to the card on the top of the discard pile, either by number, color, or symbol. If you don’t have a match, you must draw a card from the draw pile. The symbols represent the action cards, such as Wild, Skip, Wild Draw 2, Draw One, and Reverse. This version also includes a Flip card that turns the cards to the dark side, which has the following actions: Draw Five, Reverse, Skip Everyone, Wild, Wild Draw Color, and Flip. When you play your next-to-last card, you must yell “UNO!” to indicate you only have one card left. If you don’t yell “UNO” and someone catches you, you must draw two cards. Once a player runs out of cards, the round is over, and that player receives points for all of the cards left in their opponents’ hands. Play until one player reaches 500 points.

On your turn you can play cards from your hand by matching their numbers to any of the face up cards in the center row. You can play one match for each card in the center row. You can also combine two cards from your hand that add up to the number you wish to match. If the card(s) you played match both number and color, you earn the right to place extra cards from your hand in the center row and even force other players to draw cards. Don’t forget to yell “Dos!” whenever you have two cards in your hand or you could end up drawing more cards! The round ends when one player gets rid of all his cards. That player earns points based on the values of the cards left in the other players’ hands. Continue playing in rounds until someone reaches 200 points. That player is the winner.

Ticket to Ride New York (Replica)

Age: 8+ Number of players: 2-4 Players Playing Time: 10-15 Min Game dimension:  9.1 x 9.1 x 1.72 inches Ticket to Ride: New York features the familiar gameplay from the Ticket to Ride game series — collect cards, claim routes, draw tickets — but on a scaled-down map of Manhattan that allows you to complete a game in no more than 15 minutes. Each player starts with a supply of 15 taxis, two transportation cards in hand, and one or two destination tickets that show locations in Manhattan (and Brooklyn). On a turn, you either draw two transportation cards from the deck or the display of five face-up cards (or you take one face-up taxi, which counts as all six colors in the game); or you claim a route on the board by discarding cards that match the color of the route being claimed (with any set of cards allowing you to claim a gray route); or you draw two destination tickets and keep at least one of them. Players take turns until someone has no more than two taxis in their supply, then each player takes one final turn, including the player who triggered the end of the game. Players then sum their points, scoring points for the routes that they’ve claimed during the game, the destination tickets that they’ve completed (by connecting the two locations on a ticket by a continuous line of their taxis), and the tourist attractions that they’ve reached with their taxis. You lose points for any uncompleted destination tickets, then whoever has the high score wins! Welcome to new York city in the 1960S! In this brand-new version of ticket to ride, players race one another through the busy streets of new York city to visit the most prestigious tourist Attractions and complete their destination tickets. This elegantly simple ticket to ride gameplay appeals to both beginners and seasoned players alike. Learn the game in 3 minutes, play it for hours! Enjoy the new York ticket to ride state of mind!

Ticket to Ride First Journey Europe

Age: 6+ Number of players: 2-4 Players Playing Time: 15-30 Min Game dimension:  27 X 27 X 5 cm Ticket to Ride: First Journey takes the gameplay of the Ticket to Ride series and scales it down for a younger audience. In general, players collect train cards, claim routes on the map, and try to connect the cities shown on their tickets. In more detail, the game board shows a map of Europe with certain cities being connect by colored paths. Each player starts with four colored train cards in hand and two tickets; each ticket shows two cities, and you’re trying to connect those two cities with a contiguous path of your trains in order to complete the ticket. On a turn, you either draw two train cards from the deck or discard train cards to claim a route between two cities; for this latter option, you must discard cards matching the color and number of spaces on that route (e.g., two yellow cards for a yellow route that’s two spaces long). If you connect the two cities shown on a ticket with a path of your trains, reveal the ticket, place it face up in front of you, then draw a new ticket. (If you can’t connect cities on either ticket because the paths are blocked, you can take your entire turn to discard those tickets and draw two new ones.) If you connect one of the westernmost cities (Dublin, Brest, Madrid) to one of the easternmost cities (Moscow, Rostov, Ankara) with a path of your trains, you immediately claim a special cross-continent ticket. The first player to complete six tickets wins! Alternatively, if someone has placed all twenty of their trains on the game board, then whoever has completed the most tickets wins!

The Alpha

Age: 10+ Number of players: 3-6 Players Playing Time: 45 Min Game dimension:  25 X 21 X6.5 cm Lead your wolf pack as you claim territory, search for food, and hunt prey. After a successful hunt, you may enter a conflict with another pack. If that happens, you will have to decide whether you want to risk injury by fighting to keep the food for your own pack, or risk giving up all the food found in the region by sharing with the other pack. In The Alpha, players control a wolf pack, leading wolves on a search for food. The Near Forest includes easier to catch, but lower value prey. The Far Forest has larger prey that are more difficult to attack, but if successful can result in great reward. You will lead your wolves through four stages of the hunt: STALK – Send your wolves to hunt in various regions of the forest and outnumber rival packs to become dominant in the area. CHASE – Roll the dice for the region to determine the success of the hunt. RESOLVE – Enter conflict and decide whether to fight or share food with other packs in the region. ADVANCE – Move your wolf on the food track to indicate the amount of food secured during the hunt. At the end of 5 weeks (rounds), the wolf pack with the most food will be declared The Alpha.   The Alpha is a light strategy game in which players lead wolf packs to claim territory, search for food, and hunt prey. Packs will gain food throughout the game by hunting various prey in the near and far woods as well as occasionally scavenging for leftover scraps. Packs will first need to stalk their prey by placing their wolves into the regions in which they plan to hunt. Packs will have to decide if they want to fight for their food or share it. If the packs share the food it is split evenly. If only one pack chooses to fight, they get away with all of the food. If more than one pack chooses to fight, they’ll each end up injuring one of the wolves in their pack and they’ll gain no food. A great game for board game enthusiasts, families, and those new to board gaming. Easy to learn and teach, be playing in just a few short minutes. The Alpha features original art, painted by a park ranger who painted the animals to be authentic in every way. The Alpha has a blend of strategy and chance, and is highly replayable.

Age: 13+ Number of players: 4+ Players Playing Time: 15-90 Min Game dimension:  27 x 20 x 7 cm The Taboo game is the game of unspeakable fun! Who can get their teammates to say Pinball without being able to say Arcade, Game, Flippers, Tilt, or Roll? Not so easy now, is it? When playing the Taboo game, the obvious clues are strictly forbidden. Players race against the timer as they try to give creative and carefully-worded clues to get team players to guess words fast. But don’t mention unmentionables, or it’s time for the squeaker which means losing the point. Players can also play using the Game-changer die to mix things up. If it lands on One Guesser, only one teammate can guess on their turn. With 4 other possibilities on the die, players better be shrewd, quick-thinking, and willing to take some risks — but don’t get shut down by the squeaker! Taboo is a party word game. Players take turns describing a word or phrase on a drawn card to their partner without using five common additional words or phrases also on the card. The opposing partners watch a timer and use a buzzer to stop the game, buzz the player describing if one of the five off-limits words or phrases is used, or if the describing player makes any gestures. The describing team gets a point for each card they guess successfully and the opposing team gets a point for each card they pass on, make gestures on, or lose for saying one of the off-limits words or phrases. An excellent party game!

Stella Dixit Universe

Age: 8+ Number of players: 3-6 Players Playing Time: 30 Min Game dimension: 27.5 x 27.5 x 5.5 cm Starseekers! Explore the sky and bring some light back to your world. Stella is a competitive game in the Dixit universe. In each round, players interpret Dixit cards on a board after receiving a common clue word. Each player observes the Dixit cards and secretly associates these cards with the clue word, marking on their erasable personal slates the cards that they choose. Selecting the same cards as the other players allows you to score more points. Conversely, selecting a card that no one else chooses may cost you dearly. At the end of the fourth round, each player calculates their total score. Whoever has the most points — which is possibly more than one person — wins. Take calculated risks, but beware of the fall.
